ACTION FOR GENDER EQUITY AND SOCIO-ECONOMIC UPLIFT OF DISPLACED AFGHAN WOMEN AND GIRLS

The Women’s Peace and Humanitarian Fund (WPHF) Project, in partnership with UN Women and implemented by the Pakistan Alliance for Girls Education (PAGE), is dedicated to taking action for gender equity and the socio-economic upliftment of displaced Afghan women and girls. Running from November 25, 2022, to November 25, 2024, this initiative aims to break down barriers, provide education, and empower displaced Afghan women and girls, contributing to their overall socio-economic well-being and fostering gender equality. This project represents a focused effort to bring about positive change in the lives of those affected by displacement.

PROJECT COMPONENTS

Basic Education

Engage 600 Afghan children especially girls in non-formal education at the primary level.

Prepare for Settlement in Foreign Countries

Set up language and culture classes | a 12-week program for 600 Afghan Women

Address Poverty Issues 

Set up Women Economic uplift centres for 360 Afghan displaced women to address economic issues through fast-track business programs and digital assistance.

Capacity Building of CSOs

15 local CSOs are capacitated on gender responsive education/learnings especially when engaging with vulnerable displaced populations
