Pakistan Alliance for Girls Education publishes its position paper on COVID 19 – Impact on Girls’ Education on May 2, 2020.
Amidst the COVID -19 crisis, education across the world is the peculiar one. This position paper offers a comprehensive overview of the loss of learning and its correlated pressure on the economy and society.
Fajer Rabia Pasha, Executive Director- PAGE, suggests the Government to timely plan and implement gender-sensitive responses to the current education challenges our country face due to COVID19 as the closure of schools might be a momentary break for some students from which they will transpire again with better aspirations but for some children especially girls, it will completely jeopardize their bright futures forever.
This position paper will stimulate more debate in the public and in the development sector that will also benefit the policymakers in decision making.
PAGE is grateful to all the individuals and institutions for supporting Girls’ Education and will continue to address the gender gap in education in Pakistan and devise solutions to overcome the broader socio-economic challenges faced by the girls.
