The Pakistan Alliance for Girls’ Education (PAGE) is pleased to announce that its Zakat collection process has been certified as Shariah-compliant by an independent Shariah Advisor.
This certification assures donors that their Zakat contributions to PAGE will be collected, managed, and distributed by Islamic principles outlined in the Quran (9:60): “Alms are for the poor and the needy, and those employed to administer the (funds); for those whose hearts have been (recently) reconciled (To Truth); for those in bondage and debt; in the cause of God; and for the wayfarer.”
Transparency and Accountability: A Core Principle
PAGE’s commitment to responsible Zakat management goes beyond certification. We prioritize transparency and accountability through several key practices:
- Zakat Eligibility Verification: We require parents to submit Zakat forms, confirming their eligibility to receive these funds.
- Dedicated Zakat Tracking System: Our systems meticulously track all Zakat funds received, ensuring proper allocation.
- Shariah-compliant Implementation: Funds are used according to our Zakat policy, which has been reviewed by the Council of Islamic Ideology for compliance with Islamic principles.
- External Audits: Regular external audits ensure Zakat funds are spent as per policy, guaranteeing responsible financial management.
