[ngg src=”galleries” ids=”15″ display=”basic_slideshow”]9th October marks the opening of another Star School funded by Pakistan Alliance for Girls Education (PAGE) at IMSG Badir Qadia Buksh. The “Star School” project by PAGE in partnership with Alight Pakistan is initiated with an aim to attend to the needs of Out-of-School Children (OOSC) by inducting them into a fast track learning program and equipping them with the basic literacy skills. PAGE is a partner of Million Kids to School program and this school is set up as a partnership between FDE, PAGE, Alight Pakistan and technical partnership with JICA. The program aims at enrolling One Million Out-of-School Children (OOSC).
Mr. Hamza Shafqat (Deputy Commissioner, Islamabad ) was the Chief Guest on the occasion, the ceremony was attended by Ms. Fajer Rabia Pasha (Executive Director, PAGE), Ms. Madiha Naeem (Program Manager, PAGE) and representatives from Alight Pakistan. Deputy Commissioner Mr. Hamza Shafqat interacted with the newly enrolled students discussing with them the challenges they face in pursuing their education. He was further briefed about the status of Education in the area by representatives from PAGE. The school will be operating in evening hours to impart knowledge to Out-of-School Children (OOSC) especially Girls.
