Enrollment, retention, and progression of out-of-school children (OOSC) in Islamabad is a joint effort by PAGE and the Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training Pakistan. This campaign is initially focused on enrolling 500 out-of-school children by providing them with adequate learning facilities along with suitable teachers and facilitators, JICA-approved ALP content, digital content, and learning solutions that aid them for supplementary learning.

PROJECT DELIVERABLES

  • Enrollment Drive:

    • Collaborate with local communities to identify and reach out to Out of School Children.
    • Organize Focused Group Discussions FDGS with parents and community members.
    • Facilitate a smooth and welcoming enrollment process for students.
  • Learning Centers:

    • Establish and equip comfortable NFE centers with essential items such as:
      • Proper ventilation and lighting.
      • Clean drinking water and sanitation facilities.
      • Basic learning materials like notebooks and pencils.
      • Ensure a safe and secure learning environment for all students.
  • Qualified Instructors:

    • Recruit and train passionate teachers/facilitators skilled in non-formal education, NFE.
    • Recruit and train instructors capable of engaging OOSC of diverse backgrounds.
  • JICA Curriculum:

    • Utilize JICA-approved Accelerated Learning Programs (ALPs) for non-formal education NFE.
  • Student Support:

    • Strive to provide essential supplies like uniforms and shoes to enrolled students (subject to resource availability).
    • Explore options for providing nutritious snacks or meals to support student well-being and focus during learning sessions.
  • Monitoring and Evaluation:

    • Regularly monitor student progress and program effectiveness.
    • Gather feedback from students, instructors, and the community.
    • Utilize data to continuously improve the program and learning experience.
