Plantation Drive at Star School
Muhammad Ali Saeed foundation conducted a plantation drive at Star School, I-12, Islamabad on 23rd February 2018.
The school is an initiative of Pakistan Alliance For Girls education. Located in I-12, It works on an exceptional model for providing education to out of school children.
The activity was organized there to brief the children about the importance of trees and how they act as natural purifiers of the air we breathe in.
The session also involved teaching them about hazards of global warming, climate change and guiding them in various ways in which they can help conserve the environment and contribute to a healthy atmosphere by taking initiatives.
Instructions were given regarding plantation and aftercare. A practical demonstration was also provided and groups of 5 were made. Each group was provided with a seedling for them to plant and take care of. The students were very much receptive and eagerly participated in the activity.
We believe tree plantation is a great way to increase the student’s interest in their environment. It provides them with a sense of ownership and responsibility by making them aware and inspires them to play a role in protecting the environment through personal involvement.
