Leadership Skills Training by Dr. Saima Rana

[ngg src=”galleries” ids=”8″ display=”basic_slideshow”]Dr. Saima Rana has spent her professional life working to improve state education and is the Principal of Westminster Academy, serving one of the most deprived areas in the country where 44% of children are in poverty. Dr. Rana has worked as a senior educational consultant for Cambridge Education Islington as a leading schools’ improvement consultant with particular focus on Teaching and Learning, Raising Standards, ICT, Assessment for Learning, Curriculum, Change Management and Building Schools for the Future.

She has also served as a panel member and subject expert on several programs and projects for the Department for Education (DfE) and the Office for Standards in Education for Children’s Services and Skills (OfSTED) providing guidance on quality assurance, delivery, and professional standards. Dr. Rana continues to develop and deliver bespoke inspection, training and development sessions for national and international schools and educational establishments with a focus on School Improvement, Leadership, and Management, Monitoring, and Evaluation.

The training was conducted for 3 days (29-31 July 2019) on “Leadership skills”. It was attended by the Head Teachers of Federal Directorate of Education Schools and Star Schools. They were trained on concepts such as Leadership and Management, Curriculum Assessment and Progress, Performance Management, Teaching and Learning, Personal Development, Behavior, and Welfare Management, Monitoring and Evaluation.  The overall feedback of the training was positive with the trainees agreeing that it was informative, the trainer was erudite in her field and imparted knowledge with great expertise. They were provided adequate time to absorb and understand the concepts and their questions were well answered. The training was conducted timely and covered all the topics mentioned in the course outline. After the training, the trainees felt more confident and well informed.
