On this International Day of Girl Child, we are thrilled to share yet another extraordinary news that reflects the incredible work and dedication of our collective efforts. The Pakistan Alliance for Girls Education (PAGE) has been awarded the prestigious UNESCO Prize for Girls’ and Women’s Education for our flagship program, Star Schools.
At a ceremony held in Beijing, China, PAGE Executive Director, Ms. Fajer Rabia Pasha, proudly accepted the coveted UNESCO shield from the honourable China’s First Lady, Professor Peng Liyuan in the presence of Director General UNESCO Ms Audrey Azoulay. This recognition not only represents a significant milestone for PAGE but also solidifies our position as the first organization in Pakistan to receive such a distinguished accolade from UNESCO. The event was also attended by the Ambassador of Pakistan to China, H.E Mr Moin Ul Haque along with the Minister and Vice Minister of Education of China.
We are grateful to the Government of Pakistan for nominating the Pakistan Alliance for Girls Education, to UNESCO for selecting PAGE through a rigorous process and Government of China for sponsoring the award.
