Introduction

Pakistan Alliance for Girls Education (PAGE) is an umbrella organization working towards building an enabling environment for gender equity in education, employment, rights, and leadership.

PAGE acts as a platform for stakeholders, donors, policymakers and practitioners to come together and address the gender gap in education in Pakistan and devise solutions to overcome the broader socio-economic challenges faced by the girls.

Mission

PAGE aims to create a reality of gender equality, one where more women are entering the education system one where women are earning more qualifications one where women are participating equally in decision making and one where women are acquiring leadership roles by building more schools, training more teachers, and improving coordination among relevant departments, elected representatives, donors, civil society organizations and communities (including parents).

Vision

To transform the environment of girls’ education in Pakistan by bringing cultural and policy reforms through an ecosystem that can offer a world-class education system that adapts to ever-changing global skills needs, and builds respect, dignity and positive future perspectives for girls in Pakistan. We will be the catalysts for systematic innovations to help girls’ education meet the challenges of the 21st Century.

Pakistan Alliance for Girls Education (PAGE) Celebrates Winning the Prestigious UNESCO Prize for Girls’ and Women’s Education 2023

In a joyous ceremony held at IMSG G-7/2,  Islamabad, the Pakistan Alliance for Girls Education (PAGE) celebrated a momentous achievement—winning the UNESCO Prize for Girls' and Women's Education 2023. The event was attended by key dignitaries, including the honorable Minister for Education, Ali Madad Sindhi, Federal Secretary Mr. Waseem Ajmal, Representative UNESCO Ms. Cristina Menegazzi, Secretary General PNCU Ms. Razia Ramzan Dossa, PAGE partners, parents, and students.

PAGE has been honoured by the Library of Congress as the winner of the 2023 Literacy Awards Program Successful Practice Honoree. The winners will be formally announced on September 08th, 2023 on International Literacy Day by the honourable Library of Congress.

Ms. Fajer Rabia Pasha, the Executive Director of Pakistan Alliance for Girls Education, and Mr. Abdul Rauf Baloch, Secretary of Education signs an MoU to promote girls' literacy in Balochistan through collaborative efforts. On this occasion, Mr. Sami Ullah, Additional Secretary of SED, Mr. Haider Khan from SED, and Ms. Shaista, Program Manager-PAGE, were also present.

From the streets of Islamabad to the bright lights of Doha! Meet Dua, a remarkable 17-year-old who defied the odds and transformed her life through education. Originally from Sindh, Pakistan, she overcame barriers with the help of the PAGE Star School’s program set up under project “Access to Education For 1 million OOSC in Pakistan" project by @EAA_Foundation's Educate a Child program in partnership with Alight.Dua's journey is a testament to the power of second chances. Thanks to the dedication of Literacy Mobiliser Miss Fatima from @PAGE, Dua discovered the path to quality education. Miss Fatima's efforts not only enrolled Dua in school but ignited a passion for learning that propelled her to excel in her studies.Now, Dua has not only completed the primary cycle but has become a teaching assistant at her school, proving that education opens doors to endless possibilities. Miss Fatima reflects, "Every time I see Dua doing well, I get so inspired and emotional.
